Jungle ‘Julia’

Jungle

We’re excited about this weeks free iTunes single because they are local to us! Jungle are based around a duo known as J and T, who expand to a collective for their live performaces. They have just released their debut album on XL Recordings. Recorded between their own studio in Shepherds Bush and the XL studio in Ladbroke Grove. West London is a cool place to grow up (I am soon abandoning it for ‘East’ *sobs*). It is diverse and multicultural, whether it be the music, the food or the conversation. I would never trade growing up in West London for anywhere else in the world. ‘Jungle’ represent all of the above to me.

They have an unmistakable 70’s vibe, that sounds so familiar. In spite of this they manage to keep it fresh and relevant at the same time. iTunes have timed the release of this free single with Jungle’s debut album release. They have both timed it perfectly with the rare beautiful weather that we’re having right now. Summer vibes all round.

Now you might skate over ‘Julia’ on your first listen as it’s an unobtrusive track, but that’s why I love it. Full of cool, laid back 70’s sound that makes you want to laze in the sunshine and love everyone. Funky beats, great layered vocals and a catchy tune that will be stuck in your head constantly.

I have literally fallen in Love with ‘Jungle’ and have had their debut album on repeat for the whole week. So I had to share their video for ‘Busy Earnin’ as well which is perfectly executed and choreographed with perfect touches such as balancing outfits so it almost appears symmetrical.

Verdict: Download it, groove to it and apply to see them at this years iTunes festival in London.
