Hey Dolls and Dudes, I hope you’ve all been well. This week we’re reviewing Blaise, a fresh, young artist who’s been singing since forever (in her own words). The video to her latest single Attitude features Twizzle. The first time I watched it I was dancing around the room as it’s so contagious, you can’t help but get up and move, like it’s an 80s pop song.
The aesthetics of the video remind me of the beginning of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, that’s always a good way to start, who doesn’t love the Fresh Prince theme or series? The colour scheme, hair and makeup all suit that vibe. The costumes are reminiscent to Little Mix and their ‘Wings’ video, however Blaise has this jumper wrapped around her waist the whole way through and I just wanted to rip it off her, it seems so unnecessary. Apart from that slight wardrobe malfunction I really enjoyed the video, the unclarity in the picture also adds to the retro late 80s/early 90s look.
The video has a real summer feel and it’s nice to see a video with warm colours and a fun feel to it during these cold bitter nights in London. It’s fun, young and hip, a video sure to get you off you sofa/computer chair/out of bed and dancing around the house with a smile on your face.
I can see Blaise going far, here consistency in the video is good and when Twizzle appears he doesn’t detract anything, we just end up getting emersed in him. I would recommend this as a must watch!
We’ll be hearing more from Blaise in the next couple of weeks as we have an interview with her coming up… things are getting exciting at TWSH. So drop in with us next week when there’ll be a special twist to the video review.
